A lot of people are wondering whether water can really help them lose weight. This is a tricky question given that thirst and hunger are two completely different things. Lets first start of by examining how much water we really need in a day. For women the daily requirement is 2.7 liters or 91 ounces. For men the numbers are slightly higher at 3.7 liters or 125 ounces.
These numbers include water from all sources, including food. So what are some of the ways we can assure that we get the proper amount of H2O daily?
The first tip in increasing our aqua intake is waking up to water. The first thing in the morning, before you eat or drink anything else, have a glass or two of water. You can also be sure that you are getting adequate water intake by drinking out of a measured container. And lastly, you could create for yourself a loose schedule for aqua consumption. Have two glasses when you wake up, two in the afternoon, and two in the evening. This way you are sure that you are getting plenty of water and your aqua intake is regular. The nest question we may have is how can water help us lose weight?
As stated before, thirst and hunger are two completely different things. That is why it is impossible for plain water to have any effect on your weight loss results. Water can only satisfy your thirst. Foods that have high water content are a different story. These types of foods tend to fill us up quickly and help us stay feeling full for longer periods of time. That is the only way that water helps us lose weight. So if you ever wondered if drinking six bottles of water each day is helping you shed those unwanted pounds, wonder no more because that idea is just a myth.
